Miller and Coors Join Together to Challenge Anheuser-Busch

Miller Brewing Co. and Coors Brewing Co. announced this morning of their plans to form a joint venture in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, a partnership that will deliver neck to neck competition with No. 1 brewer Anheuser-Busch.

NBC Universal Buys Oxygen Media
Advertising Age
NBC Universal acquired Oxygen Media, the independent female-targeted cable network, for $925 million today. This corporate ownership will offer more of a young, upscale, female demographic for NBC.

Google to Put YouTube Videos on its Ad Network
The New York Times
Google is expected to introduce a service called AdSense, which allows websites to embed relevant YouTube videos among online ads. Video creators will have wider distribution and Google will be able to anticipate new revenue.

Toyota Ad Shows How Game is Changing
The Washington Post
Toyota is releasing a free, download-able promotional video game today to build awareness of its Toyota Yaris. The video game features the car itself, and while product placement and in-game ads aren’t new, they are becoming a big business to draw in 20-somethings.
